How I Use AI

I practise what I preach.

Most AI speakers talk about AI. I run two boards with it. Through WAIMAKERS, I've used it to deliver transformational results at 50+ companies.
Every meeting, every prep, every follow-up, every piece of research. This page walks you through how I got here, and how I use AI today.

  • 15 tools, used daily
  • More work, better work, more life
  • The biggest competitive edge I've ever had

One training in 2023 changed everything

In 2023, I joined a training with YPO and had an aha moment. I realised AI is going to become the most transformational technology of our generation. Perhaps ever.

I had a choice: be overwhelmed by it and let it fly by, or hold on with two hands and fully embrace this. I decided that day that AI was going to become my superpower. That from the very next day, I would commit the time to keep learning and progressing.

I ended up launching a business to help other companies do this, so I could learn, make money from it, and continuously develop. Then I joined Wouter at WAIMAKERS to surround myself with a team of 30 people who do this all day, every day. AI lunatics who push me further.

More work. Better work. More life.

Today, AI helps me do more work and better work. But more importantly, it gives me more time for my customers and more time for my family.

Follow me through a typical day and see exactly what that looks like.

My AI agent briefs me before I wake up

Before I open my laptop, an AI agent has already read my calendar, my Slack, my email, my SharePoint, and my CRM. It sends me my priorities, my meetings, and any commitments that are still outstanding.

It is always ahead of me.

8:30 AM

I walk into every meeting better prepared than anyone

Before every external meeting, another automation creates a one-page overview of everything I need to know, including external research where I need it.

12:00 PM

The follow-up writes itself

During the meeting, Fireflies records everything. When the meeting ends, the workflow kicks in automatically: the recording is saved to my drive, my CRM is updated with the key insights, new contacts are identified, a follow-up timeline is set, and a thank-you email is drafted.

I check it, hit send, and move on.

One meeting. Five automated actions. Zero admin. That is what AI should feel like.

I had to reinvent how I work, again and again

While all of this feels amazing, the journey to get here has been hard. I've always been the youngest in my teams, and now at WAIMAKERS I'm the oldest. If I don't keep learning quickly, I fall behind.

I've had to reinvent my operating system more frequently than ever before. That's not comfortable. That's not easy. But that's what change is all about.

Comfort is the enemy of transformation. I learned that on a mountain. I learn it again every time I open a new tool.

AI: 80% People + 20% Technology = 100% Success.

AI handles my research, my preparation, my follow-ups. But eye contact, coaching conversations, and the energy in a room? That's still me. Always will be.

It feels like I have an unfair advantage

I walk into every room better prepared. Better research, better analysis, more viewpoints, more ways to tackle any challenge. Whether it is leadership, strategy, or coaching people.

I am learning faster than ever before. And honestly? It feels like cheating. Nobody else in the room has this. That is what AI gives me.

Greg Nieuwenhuys presenting on stage

I don't talk about AI. I show it.

Live on stage. Real problems. The energy in the room speaks for itself.

People go from overwhelmed to unstoppable in one hour

Most people I meet have a Ferrari in their garage, but they're only using it in first gear. They don't even know that gears two, three, four, and five exist. They're overwhelmed, too busy, and they feel like they don't have time for AI because they have too many things to do.

From not even knowing what they don't know, to feeling unstoppable. And having more fun at work than they have had in years.

Within an hour, you see this powerful shift. People realise: "This is exactly what I need. It is big, it is exciting, it is scary, but if I embrace this, I can get my life back."

Demystifying AI live on screen, seeing people respond with "oh my god" -- that is the most powerful thing. Seeing people shift from overwhelm to superpower is why I do this.

"Before Greg's session, AI felt abstract to most of our leadership team. Afterwards, people were building. He made it real, made it engaging, and gave us a clear path forward."
